KV Anand’s next is about TN-based mafia network

Social media was abuzz with the news of KV Anand teaming up with Sivakarthikeyan for a project. However, the lensman-turned-filmmaker says, “Though I would love to work with him, the news is not true. To work with him, I need a script that suits him. We may collaborate if that materialises.” The Ayan director is currently working on a script that revolves around a mafia based out of Tamil Nadu.He says, “Mafia exists everywhere, in different fields — politics, bureaucracy, law... We’ve had films like Nayakan, which was set in Mumbai. I wanted to explore the mafia existing in our state. It’s based on things that happen on a regular basis, but the public is not aware of it. There is a difference between mafia and rowdyism. It involves politicians, but it won’t be a political film. It will be a commercial movie, and will have a love track, too.”
